Sprung!

Two of our loved ones were given their freedom back today.
Kayla and David have both been held captives of a sort.
David spent the last ten Days at RCMP youth boot camp. Today was the graduation ceremony. You may not recognize him without his long hair and beard. For more on this see his grandad's blog here at Outhouse Capital of Canada.Ill post more here on this soon.

Finally, long after the expected three day visit to hospital, which turned into ten days, Kayla is getting out!

This is Kayla with her dad and brothers Troy and Nick, and her sister Lexi. Taken durin our visit in Edmonton two weekends ago.

Here is an update from her MOM.

Hi to all our Dearest family and friends: It's hard to believe tomorrow is already Good Friday! Here the Easter weekend is already upon us, and I'm just grateful that Kayla's pigtail connected to the chest tube was taken out today! She is being granted a weekend pass so she can spend Easter weekend at home with family and friends! Dr. Desai wanted to make sure that Kayla had a bed available to comeback to on Easter Monday, in case she may have any issues with shortness of breath or any pain in the lung. So...if her chest x-ray's show everything is still clear on Monday, and she hasn't had any other problems than he will discharge her on Monday, March 24th! She will be glad to come home...she is so tired of the hospital..lol She has been in the Stollery since the evening of March 11th...she is looking forward to a yummy turkey dinner and all the trimmings. The last x-ray showed that Kayla's chest seemed to be free of any fluid buildup...and Dr. Desai decided with Dr. Mark Evans, the surgeon, that Kayla didn't need for them to go back in with surgery to remove anything...because it may put Kayla further at risk for infection if they should go in their and start touching anything!! So...hopefully, we will hear from Dr. Desai as late as Tuesday, what the doctors at the B.C. Cancer agency have told him about this chemo. treatment that is being used on a girl their with the same lung mets as Kayla. Apparently, the lung mets in this girl have slowed down...meaning the cancer has stopped growing and spreading at the moment. Kayla is very much interested in taking part in this treatment. One of the chemo. drugs that they are using with this girl is called "Vinchristine"...which apparently, has no effect on blood counts crashing,...but, it does cause pain in the body. The other chemo. drug they are using...I wasn't given the name...so, hopefully Dr. Desai will be able to cut through all the red tape and get us some answers! I want to wish all of you a very Blested and Happy Easter. May God continue to Bless all of you with joy, faith, peace, good health, and much happiness. Thank you for continually lifting us all in prayer...please ask the Good Lord to keep the fluid away from Kayla's lung!...lol I continue my novena to Mother Teresa...and I believe God is working miracles! Rejoice...the Lord has conquered death & all suffering!...Amen! Happy Easter everybody. With all my heart, Adrienne!

My heart is very heavy for Kayla and her family, and you, and your family. Everytime Kayla crosses my mind, which is often, I will pray for her healing. As we celebrate the resurrection of Christ this weekend, may Kayla's miracle be granted, and may her family continue to experience His blessings of peace and thanksgiving.

There is always hope. It's well known, all over the world, that the best medicines against cancer are made in Canada. Despite all difficulties I wish the whole family a Happy Easter and in particular to Kayla who is in our thoughts.

yesterday afternoon ,my friend her husband and ther 3 little girls came to our house. Grown ups chatted and kids played. I was showing them Kayla's story and photo and we all send our deepest well wishes for all her family and herself. So let's continue praying for this miracle.

I must also add Susan, your son looks very handsome indeed, you must be so proud of him, well done.

I'm so glad to hear Kayla is getting to spend Easter at home and I pray the chemo drugs do work. I wonder if the other drug is Sutent which Ellen took and that did wonders also. Enjoy your Easter.
