Heart of Stone

This beautiful piece of maltese stone was sent to me by Dina in Malta of My Daily Life fame.
She sent it for Kayla, and it was waiting for us when we arrived home from our final visit with her. So although Kayla never got to to enjoy this gift, I know she would have loved it as I do. It is so soft and cool. Carved from a soft stone into a heart shape and the word Malta worked into it. Now it sits on my mantle, as a happy reminder of the love that even strangers can have for eachother.
THANKS AGAIN DINA !!!!!

Hi Susan, did you know, Grandma had a good friend in Bolton who was from Malta, Maria.
Maria returned to Malta and Grandma and Grandad visited Malta some years ago.
On the lighter side, How do you make a Maltase Cross.... Punch him in the nose. The Maltese Cross was a military cross.

That's really nice. I love that there is still love and compassion for strangers out there in the world. Sometimes it seems hard to find and sometimes it is abundant. I hope Kayla knows how cared for she is and how she's touched people's hearts:)

Hi Susan, Kayla stole our hearts here and I wanted to share something from our shores that would express our emotions to her.

The Maltese cross - have a look at my daily photo today. I have decided to post on this famous cross today .

Hi Susan,

I have been trying to post comments on your last several entries and blogger wouldn't let me. Don't know what's up with that. But your posts about Kayla's birthday party was wonderful. She wouldn't want you to be sad, and you are carrying her spirit forward for her. The stone heart is a lovely memento.

I'm here, reading every post, even when I can't comment!
