I Wandered Lonely

UPDATE
iIJUST HEARD FROM kAYLA'S MOM. THE DOCTORS HAVE DECIDED TO WAIT AND SEE. fRIDAY THEY WILL DECIDE THEN IF THEY WILL DO SURGERY. SHE IS NOT SHORT OF BRATH , BUT HAD TO SLEEP INCLINED AND HAD A FEELING OF PRESSURE ON HER LUNG. i DONT UNDERSTAND WHY THEY WANT TO WAIT. iT SEEMS TO ME THAT IF THE FLUID IS COLLECTING, THAT iT WOULD BE BETTER TO START DRAINING IT AGAIN ASAP! iLL LET YOU KNOW WHEN i HEAR ANYTHING. tHE GOOD NEWS IS, KAYLA IS HOME. wE SHOULD KNOW BY FRIDAY.

Kayla has to have another operation . Her left lung half filled with fluid over the weekend. She will be in the hospital for at least two weeks. This news sadens me, God knows how forlorn Kayla must feel. I just pray she keeps her positive attitude up and that she recovers well enough to follow through with her plan to come to BC.
A friend brought me a bunch of daffodils a couple of days ago. I love these happy flowers, they are so cheery. And Lord knows I needed some cheering up. Sort of the official flower of my family. Having come from Lancashire, the home of the poet William Wordsworth, I have an affinity to his well known poem.

"Daffodils" (1804)

I WANDER'D lonely as a cloud
That floats on high o'er vales and hills,When all at once I saw a crowd,
A host, of golden daffodils;Beside the lake, beneath the trees,Fluttering and dancing in the breeze.
Continuous as the stars that shine
And twinkle on the Milky Way,They stretch'd in never-ending line
Along the margin of a bay:Ten thousand saw I at a glance,Tossing their heads in sprightly dance.
The waves beside them danced; but they
Out-did the sparkling waves in glee:A poet could not but be gay,
In such a jocund company:I gazed -- and gazed -- but little thoughtWhat wealth the show to me had brought:
For oft, when on my couch I lie
In vacant or in pensive mood,They flash upon that inward eye
Which is the bliss of solitude; And then my heart with pleasure fills,And dances with the daffodils.
By
William Wordsworth (1770-1850).
Daffodils are also the emblem of the Canadian Cancer Society.

God bless Kayla! I pray that her surgery is successful!!!

The daffodils are beautiful. It seems that they are in full bloom everywhere right now.

So sorry that Kayla must have the surgery. I hope she is able to visit B.C. and feel well. Those daffodils are a breath of sunshine.

Susan, this was my favorite poem when I was in school. We had to memorize it in grade eight, and I can still recite it.

I am so sad reading about Kayla. It is too cruel for this to be happening to such a beautiful young girl. I will say a little prayer for her, and for everyone who loves her.

I'm not so good at paper cranes, but I will try this, instead: mentally projecting a soothing rainbow all around Kayla, providing her comfort and some pain-free time.

Still pulling for that miracle, though I don't underestimate Kayla's inner strength and fortitude.
