Wedded

They are so young. And today, at just turned twenty years old, they were wed. Friends of my children. (My boys on either side of the bridal couple.) The same age as my eldest son. The bride and my son went through school together. They had their first school dance together and graduated together. They really were good school friends. And today, he was at her wedding.
They are a cute couple...but, just babies. They have been dating for a long time and have made it official. I look at them acting all grown up. And wonder, are they too young? Will it work ? Do they even really know what love is ? ? ? ?
Then I remember.......................I was the same age on my wedding day!

I was just turned twenty and Keith was twenty two. We had dated for years and couldn't wait to tie the knot. I realize that, love grows with time. At that age, it was just a seedling, over the years, with nurturing and care, it thriving and has put down very deep roots. As we watched them receive congratulations from their young friends, We talked about how when we had married, we weren't at all nervous or unsure about our future together. The only thing Keith was nervous about, was making his speech! But our future as a couple was something neither of us had cold feet about.
So now that my children's friends are starting to marry, does that mean we are getting OLD????
My wish for this young couple is that they find their love grows deeper through the years.

I suspect that they have as good of a chance of sharing a good marriage as anyone does, even some older ones. Age doesn't seem to be as important as the people themselves. I wish them good health and good luck.

Wow, they do look young, but then I think my Sarah and her new hubby Matt look young too at 24.

Maybe we are getting old, NO, it can't be, can it?

Congratulations to the new couple, they look very happy and I wish them many years of happiness and blessings.

Love knows no age---they will have a very long life together if they work at nurturing the relationship just as they did when they were single---a marriage takes nurturing and it matter not the age people are or how long someone has been married it will always take nurturing.

Beautiful pictures and may they have many years for their love to grow.

Congratulations to the newlyweds! They're a cute looking couple and I wish them much happiness.

We're not getting older, it's just our children that are aging....lol.

This story makes me think of our wedding day, I was 19 years old and my wife 23. In December we are 50 years together, we got two children, now 47 and 44 years old, in fact we had three but we lost one unborn child between these two. Sad, but that can happen too in your life. I wish this young couple the same long marriage as we have. A successful marriage is based on love, disagreement, respect and understanding for each other. Don't you agree?

Once upon a time girls were married at 13 so 20 is a little more mature but I still say it's still to young for most to be married.

I wish them all the luck in their future together

NO YOU ARE NOT OLD!!

Wow, my youngest is 20 and SO NOT ready to marry. Yet, I was 19 and my hubby was 22, and we love each other more each passing year. It's not age that determines success. I truly wish this couple a blessed life together. A happy marriage is a piece of heaven on earth. (I'm starting to think I might be getting old, too. What a relief to discover that it's just the kids that are aging! LOL)

I was twenty and mum 19 when we tied the knot and while that may have been some time ago, it just seems like yesterday.

That seems very young in this day and age.At that age you still have a lot of growing up to do.I wish them well though.I was 20 and the other half was 22 nearing 23. We have been married 30 years on Sept.10th.My daughter is 28 and nowhere near tying the knot yet.

It's funny, I think that they are so young too. Yet I was also only 22 and my now ex was 20, and ours lasted 20 years. So I guess it all depends on how much you work at it.
