Happy Sweet Sixteenth Heidi

My little baby turned sixteen today. She had her party on Saturday night. We had twenty people in the house, mostly family. Not too large a crowd as we had a few who couldn't be with us. We had three kinds of lasagna. The birthday cake of her choice, was a DQ icecream cake.

Here, some of her younger cousins assist with opening gifts.

Today we went to the mall. Yes, only a sixteen year old girl would want to spend her actual birthday at the mall. Heidi is on the right. Her best friend Steph is wearing the hat and Tylere is in the middle. This was shot as we left the mall. The sky was pink, a perfect end to a birthday shop a thon. Our blood sugars were raised and our bank accounts lowered!
When we got home we were greeted by a few glowing faces at the front door, here is just one of them. Carol and her kiddies had been busy preparing for halloween while we were gone!

Hi

Its only right that I get to comment on this post first and to wish Heidi, Happy Birthday.

When I was her age, there was a pop song by Neil Sedaka, Happy Birthday, Sweet Sixteen, not that long ago you know

Have a look at this blog, it is by someone staying at Cathy's place for the winter, they have a big Ginger cat they take for a walk on a leash, past our dogs who cower at the sight of it.

go down to the post, On an Autumn Afternoon to see ginger puss

she also has some nice local pics, starting to show me up

That is a special age in our lives and it is great that Heidi has reached hers. And let your Dad know that I also remember when that Neil Sedaka song was new, when I was about that age.

I know Heidi had a very special day after all turning 16 is very special in itself, you also told us it was special, and how could it not be with a mom like you. Now may this year be her best yet with her Birthday wish coming true.

She is a beautiful daughter. :)

aaawwwww....you left me the nicest comment about my "dress up" story! Thank you - I'm so pleased to have an actual reader :) Happy 16th Birthday to your daughter. Mine is nearly 25 - and she still loves going to the mall to - especially if Mom is buying!
