Hope Blooms

Today was supposed to be Kaylas first day of Chemotherapy. She is slightly perturbed that it has been delayed for a week. The doctors want to do a bone graft first. I am unsure of the details, all I know is, the sooner she can start fighting this, the better her chances are. This is Kayla and her little sister. Keith took this durin his recent visit. I am encouraged by Kaylas smiles that she is strong enough to get through this. Our thanks go out to those who have been keeping her in your thoughts and prayers. The support we have received has been much appreciated. I am overwhelmed by the love and encouragement we have received from the blog world.

My new job is keeping my thoughts occupied. It is fast paced and very challenging. But it is all starting to come together and all the little details are starting to make sense. Last week I almost thought I wouldn't be able to do it. There is so much to learn. Now I know the real meaning of Baptism by Fire. I feel a little more confident this week, and hopfully by next week Ill be feeling even more comfortable. It helps that my co-workers are very nice and supportive. I had been concerned about my capability to perform during a Code Blue, which is often life and death situations. My experience there is pretty much non existent. LPN classes did little to train me for emergencies. Today my manager said she will be sending me to a week long first aid course that costs over $500. That the company will pay for, and they will also pay my hourly wage while I attend it. To think I was going to do it out of my own pocket and my own time. So that's a nice little added bonus!

Thanks to all who took a guess at the Mysterious Macro yesterday. Most of you got it right. Wild Rice it is.I am going to have to work a little harder to fool the likes of you lot. I cant believe its almost Wednesday already. This stat holiday business gets my days all fuddled up. I have a hard enough time keeping track of the date.

That's a cute picture of Kayla and her sister. With so much family support, her journey through treatment will be a shared journey. Keeping her in my thoughts.
Glad the company is paying for your course, and for your wages when taking it. That is a nice bonus.
Take care and have a good rest of the week.

Let Kayla know that prayers are going up from a stranger on Vancouver Island. Give her a hug!
Don't worry about waiting an extra week. It really won't make a differnce and it is important that the doc's have everything in order first. Chemo is wicked on the immune system so they want to make sure that she is well before they do anything.
