Thinking

Time flies. It is less than a month ago that we were visiting Kayla and took her to the fair where for the most part, she was able to enjoy the day and the company. In this picture, Heidi interupts her from a moments quiet revery. Between bouts of laughter, she would occasionally drift off, deep in thought. How one can have quiet moments with the noise of an indoor fair swirling through ones ears is a miracle in itself!
Since out visit, she has had a constant battle. Three surgeries have taken alot out of her.
She is now on bedrest. This morning her lung had begun to drain alot of fluid again! Early in the morning she felt her (deceased) grandmother shake her awake and tell her to call the nurse. When the nurse came in she saw that Kaylas chest tube drain was overfull. She has lost so much fluid that her Blood Pressure was dangerously low again. This evening she was feeling a bit better. but she is very tired.
Keith and her Dad and Brother, arrived in Edmonton late due to a snow storm in the Rockies. They had to park the car for 6 hours last night. I had made sure they took pillows and sleeping bags, so they slept the through the storm and this morning continued on their way, but it was slow going. So they wont see Kayla untill the morning.
I know that Kayla has become my primary subject lately. But I cant seem to think about anything else just now. I wake up in the morning and she is the first thing on my mind. I start each day with a prayer before my feet even hit the floor. And that is saying something, with my weak bladder! Usually I am in the bathroom before I have blinked twice!
I am going to bed now. I have a bad cold. Its probably good that I couldnt get away to Edmonton, as I would not have wanted to visit with all my germs!
Good night.

Kayla is in my thoughts and prayers constantly. Though I never met her, I did talk to her on IM a number of times a couple of years ago. I find myself reminded to pray for her constantly throughout my day. Every other song seems to make me think of her. God bless and keep her and her father and uncle safe. And you get better, stress can be a powerful deterrent to getting better, so don't stress, just pray. Big hugs.

Kayla is in my thoughts aswell Susan, and I visit here nearly every day to read updates on Kayla. I pray for her every evening before I go to sleep. Hope you feel better soon and yes please keep us posted on Kayla, even though I do not know this girl in person, somehow she has really gotten into my heart.

I will also continue to offer my prayers for her. As to your blog subject matter, when loved ones are having health problems it really shows us what is most important and what really plays second fiddle. Don't feel bad for us as we are concerned, too, so do want to keep up with the news on her progress.

Well I've also been thinking about Kayla constantly. She has all of my positive thoughts. I can't help but look at Alicia and try and imagine how a girl that age has what it takes to cope with such things. I just want to give her a big hug.

btw, I hope your cold clears up so YOU can go and give her a big hug.

Like everyone else, I often find myself thinking about Kayla, a beautiful 16 year old girl, battling a fight no one should have to face. She is in my prayers whenever I think of her. Although I've never met her, it's not difficult to understand what sorrow this brings your family. I hope you find some comfort in knowing a lot of people are praying for this situation. I am so sorry this is happening to Kayla. Hugs to you, and safe journey for your family.

I am sure there is alot she thinks about, to much for someone her age.
I keep her in my thoughts always and know how strong and brave she is as are all of you who cheer her on.
