We left Maple Ridge at 7am, Thursday Morning. This is a beautiful trip if you have 13 or so hours to spare and enough cash to fill the gas tank twice. We drove east via the Coquihalla Hwy to Kamloops. Heidi and myself at the Coquihalla toll booth area. Just a couple of weeks ago, this hyway was closed for five days due to an enormous avalanche. Then Through the Rocky Mountains Via Jasper on Yellowhead Hwy. The highlight of the day was absolutely the view of gigantic Mount Robson. Some of these shots were taken through a dirty windsheild. So pardon the fuzzy pics. The weather was clear all the way and the roads were clear of snow and ice. Sudden weather changes can make what was a pleasant trip today, into a dangerous venture. I am grateful for the safe journey. So, here we are safe and sound in Edmonton Alberta. Completing the 1100KM drive at 10pm.
Tommorrow, we will visit with Kayla, Lexi and Nick.

Hope you have a nice visit with Kayla, I am sure that Troy will be glad to see his sister before she undergoes any treatment. Is it just the three of you or did keith help with the driving.
Safe journey there and back, and a miracle to go with the courage and determination of one formidable, big-hearted young lady.
I'm happy to hear you made it safe and sound. May your visit with Kayla be a blessing for you all.
Susan, I am SO sorry about the devastating news about Kayla. Thank God you made it that long journey but I'm sure you will all make her smile. She is in a good place to fight the cancer - the hospital in Edmonton is the BEST! I have a friend living in St. Albert who has been told twice that she should get her affairs in order, and she's still living. She is determined not to die from cancer and to go down in medical history! I pray that Kayla will have the determination and will to fight the good fight! I'll be praying for her. And for all of you who, in your own way, are fighting right along with her.
Wonderful pictures on your way to Edmonton Susan, but what a long trip by car. In Europe most people travel such distances by air plane.
Tell Kayla that she is in our thoughts, many times, and we hope the treatment will do her good.... This are heavy times... for Kayla, her parents, and for all of you.
