OOOHHH That Smell!

UPDATE ON KAYLA Kayla came through the surgery well. She is in some pain and feels nauseated. She has a drain in place and will likely be in the hospital for a week to recover. We don't yet know the results of the biopsy, apparently that will take a week to find out! I always thought they did the biopsy immediately so they could remove any other malignant tissue in the area while they have the patient open. Her mum says she is in good spirits despite it all. I have forwarded all of your wonderful comments and offers of prayer and support via the hospital email. I know she will be moved by all of your love and concern. Thanks so much.

Now, here in this house.......

"Something stinks!"

That's what I woke up to this morning. Considering that the source of this statement was my 14 year old resident nephew, I ignored the comment and rolled back over for a couple more minutes sleep. Troy seems to have a very sensitive nose and has been heard to say this on an ongoing basis. I am impressed by his keen nasal reception, he seems to have the olfactory sensitivity to rival that of any woman. Most males either don't notice bad smells or choose to ignore them. Just last night, said nephew proclaimed 'Peeuw! What a reek!" this as I was handing my son the kitchen garbage to take out. "Yes, Troy", I said "last time I checked, garbage doesn't smell like roses". Must be all those day old fish heads and steamed broccoli leftovers! By my way of thinking, the fact is, garbage stinks. That's a given. So why make a big deal about it? You take it out to the cans , give the bin a spray of disinfectant or air freshener and that's that!

My youngest son loves to eat tuna. He packs it for his lunch in the morning. He drains the can into the kitchen sink and then doesn't rinse it out well. I come home at the end of the day and the house smells awful! I always seemed to be the only one who was bothered by it.... until Troy moved in. So now that I have another sensitive nose in the house, maybe we will be able to help get these smells under control. Maybe not though. Troy likes to point out the bad smells better than he likes to help clean up the source. Ill get him trained yet! HeHe.

So what was it that smelled this morning? It was cat poo! On our guest bed no less. The same bed where cousin Lee will be sleeping when she gets here again tonight! My old cat has always been very clean, I know it wasn't her as she goes out side alot. The kittens are inside cats and are litter trained. Yesterday, one of them accidentally got left out of their litter room before we went out, so I think she had a little accident. Of course Heidi is appalled at the thought of one of her precious darlings could be responsible for the errant defecation! This time Troy wasn't over reacting,,,, it stunk mighty bad! I got Heidi to pick up the lump and flush it then I had to strip the bed and throw everything in the washer. One pillow had to be thrown out! Thank goodness I was off work today. I can imagine, that if I wasn't home, they would have left it there to stink all day untill I got home!

Finally the room has aired out, but I am certain the kids will have to tell Cousin Lee all about this mornings events. Now wouldn't you like to come stay at our house! We have a lovely guest bed! Its only been pooed on once!

I'm praying the news will be good for Kayla and that she will feel better quickly.
My oldest son also has a very keen nose. Somehow the training part doesn't come so easily.

There are 3 kinds of biopsy:

1.) only a sample of tissue is removed (incisional biopsy)

2.) core biopsy; a sample of tissue or fluid is removed with a needle (needle biopsy)

3.) fine-needle aspiration); a whole tumor or lesion is removed (excisional biopsy).

Kayla had the 3rth biopsy, right? poor child... it's so heavy and painful. I hope they give her pain killers and that she will recover very soon.

I am so glad we are dog people... Cats are doing there things always in neighbours garden and most of the time at night,... the sneaks, your cats are exceptional misbehaving. Show them the way to your neighbours'. My neighbours trained their cats to do it in my garden.
