Bard with the Premiere

Well , that was cool!
We started our day in our own towns annual Caribbean Festival. Jamaican music, stalls selling all sorts of goodies, and a fair for the children. We couldn't stay though because we had tickets today for Bard on the Beach in Vancouver. It is a Shakespeare festival, performed in huge tents. We treated Heidi to the show, so we had our little third wheel along for the fun. The day was sunny with clouds that soon blew away.
Before the show, we went for lunch/dinner at a nice little cafe on fourth avenue.

One cafe we walked by was the infamous Hells Kitchen. These cool paper lanterns were hanging on their patio.

Then we passed a sweet shop. I saw this fella through the window. He was part of a huge collection of Pez dispensers. I couldn't help but think of Walker for some reason!

Then we parked at the park where the tents are and walked around the park for a while. I got this awesome shot of Keith and Heidi.

Keith snapped one of Heidi and I. Looking at it, I cant get over how grown up she is becoming, as much as she is still our little girl.

This little girl tirelessly ran about trying to get her kite to fly. Ill bet she sleeps well tonight.
So while we are waiting to get in, Keith said that he had seen Gordon Campbell, our Provincial Premier walking by. Well we get inside and find seats. Guess who should be sat right in front of us? Keith could have blown in his Right Honourable ear! Mr. Campbell was there with his family. It was touching to see his daughter snuggled up to him with her head on his shoulder. That had Heidi smiling. I said to her, "Even the premiers daughter likes to snuggle her daddy too." After the show, I shook his hand and said that it was nice to meet him. I was dying to take a photo, but just didn't have the nerve to intrude on his family time.

So that was our Sunday, how was your weekend?

Our little girls grow up way too fast, don't they?

I would have enjoyed your weekend, but even though I didn't go a Shakespeare festival, I still had a pretty good weekend.

Hey, we were at the Carribean festival too at around 2 pm to 3 p.m.

That is just too cool, running into El Gordo. Sounds like a wonderful weekend.

Your part of the world sounds like a great place to holiday. No wonder so many people travel west -there's so much to do. I'm feeling a little disappointed that we won't get to B.C. this summer. I've only been there once when I was 15 and then I rushed my parents back home because I didn't want to miss the start of school. (In my defense, it was a NEW school.)

It only goes to show that daddy's little girl is daddy's little girl no matter what his job in life is.
It's great going to events like that Shakespeare festivale with the kids, it's one of the things I miss.

I wish I was in B.C. rather than here right now lol, That is a beautiful province.

That looks like my cousin :)

I used to love to buy PEZ dispensers when I was a kid the candy was pure sugar to I think.

I always love your pictures have a nice day

beautiful pics as always. Sounds like you had a great time. I am envious of any girl that gets to snuggle with their dad. Mine was never that type.

Glad you enjoyed the Bard on the Beach. And I hope Heidi enjoyed it too. I missed the Caribbean Festival this year but I'm glad the weather was good for it.

Great pictures, as always.

Hi Susan, thanks for your comments. Try using google blogger (you need a gmail account to do this - it has wider format templates than the basic Blogger) - then also use the web album feature of Picasa which enables you to link larger photos to your blog post Here's a link http://picasa.google.com/intl/en_us/web/whatsnew.html I needed to mess around with it for a while just to familiarise myself with its capabilities. by the way you'll also find a link to web album with the lablel of my blogsite at the bottom right of each photo I post. good luck

sounds like a wonderful day out, Heidi is gorgeous and looks so mature, are you sure this is our same little girl??? Not long now before someone sweeps her off her feet and days out with mom and dad are forgotten. Make the most of this wonderful time with her. Love you all
