Pull Me Through

This is currently one of my favorite songs. It is high on my list of "Songs I'd love to hear Keith sing at Karaoke." This one sooo suits Keiths voice and singing style.
Every time I heard this I would think, "Man this guy sounds just like Blue Rodeo" Looking up this video, I realized that Jim Cuddy who sings this is one in the same. He is Blue Rodeo. I love the vocals, the piano and the sax.

Pull Me Through
There's paper scattered on the lawn
Birds up on the line
There's letters left unopened here
There never is the time
There's messages I should return
And people I should call
I'm still tripping over echoes
Left lying in the hall
There's a light comes through the darkness
Slowly to my eyes
You can fall back here forever
I just never realized
Time won't let me go
And every night I know
That you could pull me through
You could always pull me through
Even when I'm lying here
Drowning in my blues
You take the sting out of the rain
And bring the sun back up again
You could always pull me through
We stood outside together
And we laughed like ancient friends
Then we lay down in a field
Just where the road begins and ends
I see you in the mirror
And I watch you from afar
My friends all think I'm crazy
But I know the way things are
Outside I hear voices
Underneath the moon
And I'm grateful for whatever breaks
The silence in this room
Time won't let me go
And every night I know
That you could pull me through
You could always pull me through
Even when I'm lying here
Drowning in my blues
You take the sting out of the rain
And bring the sun back up again
Darling you could always pull me through
I hope you're traveling well now
And there's stars over your head
And I hope the river carries you
Everywhere you said
I miss the way you look at me
The way you wear your hair
I miss the conversations we left hanging in the air
Late at night I wake up
Wonder what's been done
But I know our life together
Will go on and on
You could pull me through
You could always pull me through
Wrap your arms around me
And chase away my blues
You could take the sting out of the rain
And bring the sun back up again
You could always pull me through
You could always pull me through

I am not much into country western music but that one is nice. There are a lot of the newer ones that I find I do like and they really are not much different from the style of music that I do regularly listen to.

We are using some different music for our wedding, not the traditional type. It should be interesting. Visualize the B&G exiting after the service to the Pointer Sisters "I'm So Excited." It fits us better than the more traditional wedding music. As does Elvis' "Love Me Tender." Some may not like it but it is OUR wedding.

Dick,
What a wonderful choice for a wedding retreat song. Your selection really speaks for your enthusiasm for your futures together.
Blue Rodeo is not actually calssed as Country, but as Alternative Rock. I can see how people may think that by their name though.

Hi.

Echoes of Willie Nelson, but not as blue.

Very lovely, Susan. You sound like you have such a sunny disposition! I do like quite bit of country western. Being in Oklahoma, even some of the old country songs make me think of happy times. Donnetta

Susan, that's really lovely. I wonder how many folks know that Blue Rodeo is Canadian, and they're great.

Yeah, I rather like Blue Rodeo. I haven't heard any of their new stuff, but I've always thought he had a really nice voice. I think they are quite marketable in the country genre as well as alternative rock and mainstream pop.
