too. The reason we finally got together is because she read on my blog about how the organization I belong to, The Eastern Star, collects and sells stamps to raise money for cancer dressing supplies. Bobbie had this huge boot box of stamps, some over thirty years old. They had belonged to her Dad whom she lost to cancer just over a year ago. I am so touched that she could part with something so precious. These stamps were of great sentimental value and will surely bring in some much apprieciated funds for the cancer dressing program. I wanted to publicly express my thanks and the gratitude of those who will benefit from this thoughtful gift, and those are the cancer patients who recieve the dressings at no cost. So Bobbie Thank You again.
I 'met' Bobbie about two years ago. When I started blogging, I did a search for blogs on Maple Ridge. Thats when I found Bobbie,we have been in communication almost every day since then, via comments on each others blog.
Today we actually met in person. I recognized her right away. We had arranged to meet up for coffee which she kindly treated me to, I got a muffin thrown in the deal
I am wondering why it took so long for two people who are practically neighbours to meet face to face. Its funny, but I have to admit that I was a little nervous this morning. I feel like I know Bobbie so well, I know so much about her family and daily life because of her Blog. She brought along her sister Charlotte who I have read so much about. They were on their Tuesday Thrift store outing. I am so happy they took time out of their special sister time together to meet up with me. I had no reason to be nervous, they were both lovely friendly people. Now that we have made the first move, I hope we can meet up again before too long. Although the stamps were an added bonus, we shouldnt need any reason to meet up with friends.
