Are you ok Lee and Rufus?

I just read Peggys post, on her blog The Day to Day Life of a very Lazy Gardener. Peggy lives in Scotland, and she blogs about a Boxing Day earthquake, the epicenter of which, was in Dumfries. Yikes! You can read all about it in this article. This photo of Dumfries copied from the BBC article.

Some of my regular readers, may recall that my cousin Lee, who visited here in the fall, lives in Dumfries with her mum, my Great Aunty Ruth, whom Lee affectionatly calls Rufus. Thankfully, nobody was hurt and damage was minimal. Funny though, reading something like that happening where you have loved ones just makes you want to be with them and give them a hug and makes me very relived that it was'nt worse. Lee and Ruth live in a very old cottage with thick walls made of stone. It would take a much larger earthquake to damage that house.
This photo of Lee came out very dark. I have played with it on my Adobe workshop, I lightened it and converted it almost to black and white.

Hello
This is the family scientist.
3.5 earthquake is not much for here with our frame houses in western Canada but in Scotland with stone or brick houses it could shake some roof tiles of the roof.
We had a 3.5 a few weeks ago just north of Penticton but we didnt feel anything.

I hope that Peggy is OK and no damage was done. That photo of Lee and your dog is really great :-) Black and white suits it.

Happy New Year!! *HUUUGS*

I'm fine - thanks. There was only window rattling and there were NO injuries reported anywhere. I don't even think anything actually broke.

Earthquake in Taiwan, too. Recently in a neighbouring state they had a hailstorm that lasted 20min and yet we are in drought with bushfires raging in three states right now. Mother Nature is riled and I'm not sure what to expect from her next.

I'm glad you're making such good use of your editing software. I love to tinker with pictures and video.

Have a Happy New Year!

Glad everyone is alright but aren't there some strange things going on in this world anymore. Makes one wonder what's happening or going to happen. Happy New Year.

Phew! That's enough to give you a little scare, eh? And I agree with Curtis. Something seems awfully funny about the way Mother Nature has been behaving around the world these days.
