Wrapped in Plain Brown Paper

Yesterday, when we got home, I had a parcel notice on my door. There was something waiting for me to pick up at the Post Office. OOHHHH! Something nice for me!!!! Dont we all love to get a parcel? The only thing I was expecting was a book. I had submitted my secret code from the cereal box and was awaiting my new Steven King novel. I already had my afternoon planned. I would go pick up my book and spend this afternoon soaking up the latest production from Maines' most reknown storyteller. This was the first rainy day we have had in ages, and what better way to while it away than snuggled up on the couch with ole Stevie?

When I got to the Post office, I handed over my claim ticket. The clerk handed me my parcel. Ohh its big, it must be two books! Huge was the smile which spread over my face. But once it was in my hands I realized it didnt feel like books. I glanced at the return address, and my already big smile grew even brighter. Why this was a package of a more personal nature. Discreetly wrapped in brown paper . The sort of package that you want to take home and carefully open, drawing out the suspence. Having seen the return address, I knew the contents of this package would be very sweet and special. My daughter was watching me open it. I asked her to take a picture of me opening it so my sender friend could see how happy he had made me. It wouldnt have even mattered what was in the parcel, just getting something nice in the mail from a special friend is a treat. The contents wont be revealed, I will leave that to your imagination.
But a Huge thanks to P for making my day.

But now...... what am I going to read?

Great pic of you! And thanks for the birthday wishes.

This is my umpteenth attempt to leave a comment - I am not sure why I am not managing. I am so pleased you got this joyful surprise and I confess to my curiosity being totally peeked ... what could it be?

Well, I hope it tastes good, fits well or is fun to play with! You are right about gifts. Today I received a DVD from a friend that is a compilation of photos, set to music, from our gathering of old school friends last summer in Spokane. I am about to leave for dinner at Outback Steakhouse, then will watch it when I get home later.
