A glimpse of Sun and Spring.

Today we had a lovely sunny break from all monotony of the January rains. The clouds broke up and we saw beautiful blue skies. Not totally devoid of clouds, which actually made for some very dramatic skies. This shot is taken from my front yard, looking up into our giant maple tree. It's bare, black branches reaching for some sun.

The clouds lifted just enough that we were able to see the Golden Ears for the first time in many days. All the rain we had down here, fell as snow up there. Now my mountains are capped in a glistening mantle of white. Here again is the view from my kitchen window. My new camera has a better zoom, so I can now get a way better shot, that really shows off their magnificence.

It may have been cool in the higher levels, but down here, although the weather has been wet, it has been warm. Here is a shot of my tiger lilies starting to push up through the soil. Giving me a gentle reminder that spring is not far away.

Great photos! I can't believe you already have blooms, we are still so cold and yucky.

That's one thing I miss about living in a cold weather climate -all the bulbs that would pop up could be absolutely amazing.

Beautiful pictures. Spring is almost here!

Wow, what a view out of your kitchen window...I keep wondering when we are going to have winter here. Nothing like spring time though.

Beautiful pics. Thanks for sharing.

No signs of spring here yet. I can't wait, but then I may not be here to see Spring come alive, I may be enjoying it elswhere.
