Christmas with Jesus

UPDATE My sister Catherine gave birth early this morning to a healthy baby girl. Both mom and tot are doing fine.

Last Christmas

The following is a wonderful, moving poem that I heard for the first time tonight. I was at my daughters "girls" group. One of the girls has to read out a poem or passage each meeting, usually something relevant to the season. This is the poem I heard tonight. Please go to THIS site to view it. http://members.aol.com/sweiss9500/ChristmasHeaven.html

This passage was written by a mother after her daughter passed away. It is very moving, but is comforting also. Its not just appropriate to a grieving parent, but to anyone who has lost a dear one. And doesn't Christmas stir fond memories of past Holidays , shared with those now gone to be with the Lord. I dont want to print it out here as it may infringe her copyright. But when it was read out tonight, there wasnt a dry eye in the place.

I am fortunate to say the only "family"I lost this year was my old cat Grandville. But I have friends who will be missing dear ones this Yule. My thoughts are with them as we celebrate Jesus' birthday.
Grandma, (L) its always a blue Christmas without you.

I lost a child once (http://jobstale.blogspot.com/2005_04_01_jobstale_archive.html)

It is a very difficult place to be.

Thank you.

That was beautiful, and when I think of my mother this Christmas, I will think of that poem.

What a lovely poem, i bet every mom there was in tears. Tonight I am feeling especially sentimental and weepy. This morning my youngest daughter delivered a beautiful baby girl, after a very short labour. I got to see my newest treasure just a couple of hours after she was born. When I arrived at the hospital, her mom and dad were bathing her. Is this strong healthy looking young mother actually the same tiny bundle that I once bathed. And look what she and her loving husband are holding, a beautiful pink miracle, perfect in every way. She gets dried off, diapered and given to grandma. I press my face close to hers and she snuffles against me. Surely my heart will burst open with the joy I feel. How can anyone not believe in God when they have snuggled against one of his miracles.

God also sent our family a miracle in summer when one of my daughters, who had been travelling down a different path, was badly injured. This life altering episode caused her to renew her faith in God and her family, so our broken ties were mended and we are all enjoying getting to know this lovely person all over again.

Thankyou God for giving me two miracles this year, what more could any mother possibly wish for.

Congratulations on the new addition to your family.

And thank you for posting that link. The poem was beautiful. I passed it on to a friend of mine who lost his wife just after last Christmas.

Take care.
