Flash Mob Dancing in The Streets

All over town, spontaneous outbursts of Oh Canada can be heard being sung by the crowd. We joined into a singing of our anthem at Robson Square during a medal ceremony that was shown live on a big outdoor screen. Its such an emotional feeling. Great pride in being Canadian.

I came across this on You Tube. Looks like a wonderful time and really gives a true sense of the atmosphere on the streets of Vancouver every night since the Olympics started.

This is called a Flash Mob. It was organized by a group called "Imagine 1 day", a group promoting quality, primary education be supplied to every child in Ethiopia by the year 2020.

Apparently, organizers put this out on line, with online choreography that people could practice at home. They were hoping that they may get about 200 people turn out for the street dance. They got a turn out of approximately 3000!

The idea is, that if we can pull together to to make such a performance so easily, then there are other ways that we can impact the world through fun.

I wish I had known about it, I would have been dancing in the streets myself.

You can read more at the official website of Imagine 1 Day by clicking here.

And to think they called Vancouver a "no fun" city!!

It just makes my heart swell when I see all the people singing the national anthem spontaneously like they have been. I sure hope the patriotism that Canadians have been showing across Canada for these games continues after the Olympics.

Have you seen the house on 203rd that usually does all the Christmas lights? Now it's all decked out in red and white.

It must have been a great feeling to be there among all those singing, dancing and cheering people. I only can imagine how that feels. These games are wonderful and bring so many people together.

Isn't it fun? Even people who were against the Olympics are now getting into the spirit of the games. We went downtown on Saturday, and it was overwhelming. I got a good picture and a video of the Olympic flame. It was wonderful...!

Reminds me of Ferris Buehler's Day Off, (parade scene). Love it!

I bet its wild to be there when its happening.
I know here in Ottawa we are screaming with every victory we see happening there and are ready to spill in the streets when we win hockey gold.

There was such a feeling of patriotism and camaraderie wasn't there? Little boys standing on the street corners wearing jerseys and waving Canadian flags...just wanting people to honk their horns, people singing the anthem on the bus, just a feeling of friendliness and sportsmanship. It's a good thing:)
