Hope

I have been out of town for a couple of days to my parents place. This is a photo of where they live, on the outskirts of the town of Oliver.
When I got home today I recieved a call from Kayla's mom. She had her surgery today. The third in as many weeks! The first two were to put drains in to try and get the fluid out of her lung, but it just continues to reaccumulate. At one point Kaylas Oxygen saturation was only at 88%. So she was on Oxygen for a while. She has also been on morphine for the pain in her shoulder. Todays procedure was different, the surgeon applied a special powder between her chest wall lining and the outer lining of the lung. Apparently it is supposed to prevent fluids from getting into the lung some how. They said the surgery went well. But while Kayla was in recovery she gave us a big scare. Her vitals bottomed out and they were quite concerned. Anyways after about an hour they seemed to stabalize her. She will be spending tonight in intensive care. Please keep praying for Kayla. that the lung will now remain free of the plural effusion, and that she will be free of pain. Also please remember to include her family in those prayers. Her parents and her siblings and all us countless aunts, uncles and cousins.
Thank you.

I'm so sorry to hear of Kayla's difficulties.

Ellen had a pleural effusion and she had a pleurodesis, which sounds like what Kayla is having. Hers was effective.

I'm sending prayers for Kayla and her family.

I hate cancer.
