FINALLY! Kayla went home today.
Just this afternoon, she was discharged to the care of a very excited family. Christmas is being celebrated tonight at Kayla's home. She is the most anticipated "gift" that family has recieved this holiday.
It has been two weeks since finding out that the cancer had reappeared on her lung and 11 days since the surgery to remove it. The surgery involved collapsing her lung, and It has taken those 11 days for her lung to fully reinflate. She has had a lot of pain and discomfort. Also quite a bit of nausea, most likely a side effect of the pain meds.
THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR ALL THE PRAYERS AND EMAILS. iT MAKES SUCH A DIFFERENCE TO KNOW HOW MANY PEOPLE DO REALLY CARE.
Tommorrow night Kayla will be celebrating new years eve with those she loves most. Here's to a cancer free 2008!!!
