Stanley Park is a huge forest in the middle of the city, the equivalent of Central Park in New York. This park juts out into the Pacific Ocean, surrounded on three sides by water. The North Shore mountains in the distance and the jewel of Downtown Vancouver gleaming in the evening sun, making this an absolute treasure to Vancouverites and the hoards of tourists that flock here each year!
The Stanley park lighthouse is one of my favorite local landmarks. It has also been featured on a blog template, some of you may recognize it. In this photo my youngest son David stands on a bench, shirtless and watches a cruise ship as it exits the harbour.
Blow this viewpoint is a seawall which passes through the lighthouse via a small tunnel. In this next photo the kids goof off by the base of the lighthouse.
There was still alot of damaged trees apparent from the winter storms. This old stump was cause for some climbing adventure.
The boy in the purple shirt is our nephew, Kayla's brother. The boy in the blue tshirt is another nephew, Keith's sister's son. It's great that these cousins have eachother for support at a time of such worry for another one of their generation.
My prayers are with Kayla tonight as she prepares for her operation tommorrow. My thoughts are also on the rest of the family who care for this gal so dearly.
WE LOVE YOU KAYLA!

I shall pray for Kayla and her family too. Great photos.
My prayers are with Kayla, as well. I'm sorry to hear that she must have surgery again.
My thoughts are with Kayla, she is so young and this surgery is so heavy. I feel really sorry for her.
I'll be thinking of Kayla today as she undergoes surgery. Wishing her a speedy recovery.
I'm so sorry to hear Kayla needs more surgery. Will continue to pray for that sweet young lady. God bless.
Hi Susan, please let us know how Kayla's surgery went, just as soon as you know. What a worry for Norman, now that he is so far away from her.
Sending prayers and best wishes to Kayla and her family.
