Tinpalace Gold

When I was in Oliver, I had the very special privlege of meeting up with one of my links. I got to meet Deb from Simple not Easy, and her husband Tony. She writes her blog from her 'tin palace'.

One of her specialties is photographing the birds right outside her windows. While I was there she loaded up the feeder and got me to hunker down on a stool nearby. Sure enough, in moments the blossom filled apple tree was alive with birds. I was very pleased to visit with a pair of goldfinches.

One of them looked right at me and practically said "cheese" with a beak full of sunflower seed. I think maybe Deb should call her self Snow White, as the birds do seem to be drawn to her.

Deb was a really nice lady and I look forward to seeing more of her in future visits. Ill have to take her up on her offer of Japanese tea before she drinks it all herself.

This big guy had to enjoy the visiting birds through the glass. He was a bit put out to be left inside alone! When Deb brings the cat out, he goes on a leash which clips onto his body harness. She walks him all around the campground. As long as she has him restrained, the birds will be safe. But they better watch out if he ever gets loose. A tiger in kitty fur.
Thanks for the wonderful visit Deb and I'll see you soon.

Love your view photos and the ones of the birds. Great photos. I replied in one of your older post, saying this is my first time visiting your personal blog. Nice.

Glad you got to meet another fellow blogger. A Japanese Tea for your next visit sounds lovely.
Great pictures of the birds especially the finch saying 'cheese'!

Enjoy your week!

An exceptional beautiful bird the one with the red breast. I am no bird connoisseur, so I don't know the names, but they are beauties and so are your photos.

I just love your fourth photo, the bird among those pretty, delicate flowers.

You have a way with photography. We all have our special talents, don't we. I think the fact that we all have our own colors makes us all beautiful like the birds in your photos. Mine might be singing, yours photography, for someone else writing, acting, dancing, drawing, mechanics, math...whatever the talent, it just adds to the colors of the world.
It's nice that you got to meet a fellow blogger. Sounds like you had a really nice time.

Susan I love the bird pics, what a great idea having a feeding tray, we kind of spill grain around the farm here so the birds love cleaning that up...

Hi Susan, thank you for passing by

You are living in a blessed country
So beautiful landscapes, with weeds and so many birds
I like exactly the same thinks than you : old houses or barns, details and flowers and cats !
I'll go now and look at your other blog
The blog "passerelle" where you wrote your so kind comment is a blog where I keep my links and where I publish the pictures I prefer from my other blog "cergipontin".
I have another blog only for flowers and my garden and then my nickname there is MARGUERITE, which means... Daisy, it's why my profil picture is a daisy !
Marguerite is my second christian name and was the christian name of my grand'mother

The name of my garden blog is "jardin de marguerite" because i have plenty flowers coming from the garden of my parents which was Marguerite's garden.

The red colored finch is a Purple Finch - the color is more intense than its cousin, the House Finch.

I like the bird photos you took at your friend's house. Basically the lady is providing the grocery store for the birds and they are smart and quick to take advantage of it.

Once a person goes beyond that and incorporates food of different kinds, water, that is fresh and cleaned daily, and shelter and with it some safety then word gets around and soon, she will have a virtual paradise.

Your photos are very nice. To answer your question at my blog.

Thanks for stopping there and for commenting.

I see your camera survived the encounter with my visage. (lawl) You got some wonderful pictures of our feathered visitors. That purple finch is at the feeder right now, with his missus. We've also had a pair of rock doves show up for a drink and a snack the last two days. Lovely things; the male has irridescent orange feathers on his throat.
I enjoyed your visit so much. I hope next time we have more time together. :)
