Signs of Spring

The photos in yesterdays post showed everything blanketed in a foot of powdery snow. With this arctic front and bone chilling temperatures, we are indeed in the grip of winter.

Or are we?
Poking out from under the woods winter coat, are signs that Spring is just around the corner. Fresh, tight buds bursting through the ice crystals.
Bright green growth is sprouting off the old moss.
Renewal is all around. You just have to look hard to see it.

The formation of the bark on this tree caught my eye. Its deep grooves trapping the shadows.

I am back to work today for the first of five day shifts.

Tonight we are going over to my sisters to babysit so she and her husband can get to a party for her work. Im keeping this brief so I can get ready. Have a good night. Thanks for stopping in.

The pictures in the two posts you've just done are really good. You really capture some of the essence of our area. That's one thing about BC - spring comes early!

Take care and drive safe on the bumpy, icy roads.

With it being below 0F, it looks good to see some signs of spring. The photos are beautiful and thank you for sharing them.

I hope you're having a great weekend!

You are doing a great job with your photos. I especially enjoy the macro shots and the foot bridge in your previous post. Photography is fun and digital makes it so easy to take many photos.

I am ready for spring. This snow is supposed to be up in the mountains, not down here where we live. But, it is kind of pretty.

Nice photos. Here in Boston we've had no measurable snow!

I came looking for our matching mailboxes, but found this instead. (I did find your other blog)

I think this blog is much more interesting though. Just as I enjoy keeping my tradtional blog more than my Seattle blog. It's just more personal and fun! :) (Not to say that I don't like your photoblog) I'll be back if you don't mind

Your photos are as always amazing good. I ask myself sometimes how many hours has a day in BC? You find time to go outside to take these beautiful pictures, you read blogs, you write a lot in your own blog, you take care of your family and the dog, find time to babysit, and so on. You are a very active woman

Yaaaaaay, spring! I was noticing the days getting a little longer lately, which is just fine by me. Your photos are really awesome.

When you think about what you have written, you could use the same analogy to see the positive within negatives.

"Although we are withing winter's icy grip, signs of spring are everywhere around us."
