A Few Words From Kayla's Mom.

Here Is the latest update from Kaylas mom. Also a new photo of Kayla and her little sister, Lexi, and her brothers Troy and Nick.

Hi there to everyone! Kayla is back in the hospital today for her next MTX chemo. Yesterday she had her first experience and her first fitting with her prosthetic leg! It was quite "weird" at first for her...she was happy to finally get to try it on. She did better than that however, she walked on her prosthetic leg for the first time, with the help of her crutches! She did wonderfully! It will probably be a little while yet before she begins putting any real weight on her prosthetic leg. She has to finish her chemo. treatments first, because they unfortunately leave her so wiped out and she needs the strength to hold herself up. It's just so wonderful that she has finally reached this stage of recovery! I'm so excited for her! I was just so very proud of her making the effort to take her first steps. She is anxious, excited, and a little bit impatient about learning how to walk again!...lol She hasn't changed all that much since she was learning how to walk when she was 1 year's old!...
THEN AN UPDATE
Hi again everyone! Well...I can say life is definitely never boring on this journey with Kayla!...lol Unfortunately, Kayla's blood counts were too low today, so her MTX chemo. was postponed for another week. She just finished speaking with me about 5 minutes ago...she is back at Doris's place. She expressed her frustration, but, I managed to cheer her up and told her we'd go for lunch tomorrow and have a mom and Kayla time! I'll update you all on our little outing tomorrow. Have a great night everybody!
Thanks again for all your support and encouragement.
Have a good night.

That photo is great and I'm so pleased to hear about her prosthetic! I'm sorry to hear about her blood counts but I hope she'll be OK next week.

That's a great picture of Kayla and the other kids.
Its only a set back, probably planned by Kayla for some "Kayla/Mom time" :)

I hope her counts go back up and she is able to resume treatment. That's a great picture of her and her brothers and sister. She's such a determined girl that I'm sure she'll be walking on the new leg before long.

Take care and hope you have a great Sunday.

Is she talking to her Mom again? :-) Hopefully her immunity system will soon recover. All the best for Kayla and her family.
