Dog Daze of Winter
I just can't get enough!
This awesome weather is so very welcome. We had yet another clear blue day. We got up early and took the dog to the dyke. The mountains were glorious, capped in white, set against the bright blue skies. Breathtaking. These beautiful days remind me why this is such a wonderful place to live. The weeks of non-stop clouds and rain make it easy to forget what an amazing place we live in. I am glad we got out and made the most of our morning, as I had to work at 3pm. I always hate going to work on a day like this, but it is easier to go when I've spent some time outdoors. I will be working again today, and i will get out to the back yard and tidy up a bit more before I go. Keith has taken Heidi skiing.I am glad he is taking a day to enjoy himself as he works hard and usually spends his days off catching up on chores and doing things for the kids. This is for Heidi too, but he enjoys it so much. Also the father-Daughter bonding thing that happens on the slope is something else. It is their thing. Heidis chance to have her dad all to herself. Dont worry about me feeling left out, I am a wimp. I wish I was'nt, but I am so afraid of falling to the point of it maybe being a phobia. I tried skiing and was terrified the whole time, just could'nt relax. But I am glad that Heidi likes to join her dad up on the hills. He refused to take my camera as he is afraid it may get damaged. He promised to pick up a disposable camera, hope he remembers.
This is Binzen. His Daddy is so proud of him and his champion bloodlines. [I'm posting this pic with Deni in mind, she has Springers too]. He loves to go for walks, although I should call them RUNS as he never goes slowly. He goes back and fourth all the way along. We used to take both dogs, but Copper is not strong enough these days. Watching Binzen frolic and spring through the long grasses, reminds us of the startling changes our old dog has gone through. Every day he is still with us is a gift. We almost lost him before Christmas. Now, while we are out galavanting on the dike, Copper lays on his blanket in front of the fire. When we get back home, he always gives Binzen a thorough sniffing over. I figure smelling Binzen must be like looking at a photograph for him. "Ahh yessss, that smell, I remember that place".
UPDATE
It has just come to my attention that a very dear friend of mine is going through a very difficult time and needs to find some peace and assurance. I wont mention his name. But if you could all pray for "susans friend" I am sure God will know who you mean.

Wow - it looks like a postcard. So beautiful. We're at 55 degrees today, which is 20 below normal. It was kinda nice to play softball in cool weather.
Thinking about Susan's friend...
Beautiful, beautiful picture! can't wait to see the skiing ones :o)
Susan, my email is not letting me reply or compose right now but thank you for the suggestion. I have decided to not allow anonymous comments for a while.
Take care, :)
Your friend is in my prayers.
Beautiful Springer, they all are though, aren't they? Gotta love them. :)
What a georgous picture. Pretty pup too. Happy Sunday to you :)
What a beautiful picture. Prayers being said for 'Susan's friend'.
I am glad the weather has improved up there. Be glad you are not in the New England area now. The news tonight siad New York had 26 inches of snow in a little over 24 hours. With your nice weather we should see more of those good photos!
Just looking at our Golden Ears takes my breath away. Aren't they majestic and aren't we lucky to live in such a beautiful place.
Have a good week. Thoughts and prayers for your friend.
Beautiful pics! Great looking dog too, those Springers! Your home is so nice. :)

Your friend is in my prayers.
