Footprints

Hello Friends, Me again. We havent floated away yet. The river has risen alot slower than anticipated. Officials are still watching it closely, but looks like we may not get as wet as the folks further upstream. Earlier tonight I was chatting for a while with Herman on messenger, what a treat that was. Thanks Herman!
Casting my mind back...way back...to last weekend. When the sun was here and the heat fooled us into believing summer was nigh. We took a drive out to Vancouver and visited Spanish Banks, one of the areas most fantastic beaches.
Here, Heidi walks along the water at low tide, facing the city of Downtown Vancouver. If you enlarge this, you can see My Mountains, the Golden Ears, in Maple Ridge, just behind the low hills in the distance.

Here is a closer one of her. I love this as it has an old fashioned beach girl look to it. She is so modest. It was such a hot day, but she wouldnt take off her shirt. She had a tank top under it!

On our way, I spotted this little man in an old MG. It was very smart of him to wear a straw hat to keep the sun off his head, and lucky for me, it added to the photo.
On our way, we went for lunch at Sophies Comic Cafe. We hadn't been in there before, but I am glad we did that day. Heidi and I had an awesome vegitarian sandwich and Keith said his meal sized Greek salad was delish! We are getting adventurous with eating out. Not that long ago, we would stick to what we knew. It's so much more fun to try different places.

These little girls made an irrisistable target for my camera, in their brightly coloured outfits and their overall cuteness! I didnt notice their reflections at the time.

As we walked along the wet sand Heidi noticed this tiny footprint which must have been made by the little child in the previous photo. Heidi paired it with one of her own. This photo reminds me of that poem Footprints ".....It was then that I carried you..."

These boys were having a great time throwing balls of wet sand at eachother. In the distance is the UBC lands. The beach on that point is Wreck Beach, which recently made it to an international top ten Nude beach list. You wont see many photos on this blog from that location!

Those are fantastic photos you got last weekend. Love the footprints and the one of the little girls. Wasn't it a wonderful weekend compared to now? Will the sun ever return?

Beautiful pics Susan, we have had a nice week, but nothing like the high temps of last weekend, 37.4 and up to 41.1 at one time on Saturday afternoon.

Can't wait to see you guys when we visit next weekend. I would like you to lay on some heat then I can get a swim session in! Coming Friday evening, will eat on the way.

You are such a good photographer. Are you a professional or do you make money from them. They are so beautiful. I loved the footprints and the little girl's. You look lovely in your photo and from what I could see from the picture of your daughter, she looks a lot like you. A modest girl these days! How rare. I'm going to add you to my favourites right now before I forget. Your blog is always worth the trip!

Susan, you were in my neighborhood last weekend...! What wonderful photographs. A little hint... Spanish Banks is the best place to watch the fireworks in the summer, and you don't have to fight traffic on the way home because you can go along 16th Avenue. It's a really fun experience.

Cheers,
Josie

I have never been to Wreck Beach, it must be I dont want to strip off in front of others.
I can see the Golden Ears mountains on your picture still covered in snow. We are 200 miles the other side of those mountains here in Oliver
