puddles

We have had some wild weather on the West Coast of late. Our dykes are fit to burst and have actually breached there banks in a couple of places. We have had windstorms like I have never seen. Usually we may get one or two storms in winter. We have had one after another lately, with hurricane like winds. I like the stormy weather, but perhaps I can say that since none of our trees have fallen on our house , unlike many local residents. The roof of our stadium in Vancouver has blown open.
The ducks dont seem to mind too much, these fellas just take it all in stride. Luckily it is too soon for them to be nesting yet, or their eggs would have been washed away!
I have been feeling not quite myself ove the holidays. I think between working too much and all the extra happenings over Christmas have taken their toll. I have barely recovered from the croup and then Yesterday I was nauseated and throwing up. Then terrible stomach cramps. I ended up in a puddle of tears one night and just couldnt stop crying. My kids were really worried about me. Ussually Im not one to loose control. I think I am just over tired. All I can say is thank goodness the holidays are over. Time to get back to the daily grind which is busy enough, without all the extra hussle and bustle of Christmas. Ok thats enough whining.
What would I do without Keith? He is my lifeline. When I feel lousy, his love keeps be going. He has been super busy with work too, but he still has managed to get the garage conversion finished. Our son is now occupying his new quarters. In the midst of all the shuffling that happpened due to the renos, my deep freeze got moved and plugged into what was unknowingly a dead circuit. I went into the freezer for bread and lo and behold, a puddle on the floor all around it. At first, I thought it was the rainstorm leaking into the house. "Oh Great!". But, It turned out to be the freezer thawing. Alot of food was spoiled and had to be thrown out. But I am just glad it was that and not a leak in our foundation!
We are now in the process of converting Sons old room into our office. Keith has patchd up pin holes and we bought some paint and also, wall cabinets to go over the desk for extra storage. Lord knows we need that. My bedroom has become a dumping ground for STUFF WITHOUT A HOME. I am looking forward to getting this all done and have a relatively tidy house once more.
My oldest son, bought his girlfriend a promise ring, which he gave her on New Years Eve. They are growing up so fast.

Crazy weather everywhere anymore it seems. It sounds like you just need to chill and rest up a bit and then I'm sure you'll be fine. Have a great week.

Hope you're feeling better soon. That flu/cold that I had sure takes it's toll on you. Take care and get lots of rest.

Maybe if we could get a couple days of sunshine in a row, we'd all feel better!

Oh how sweet. A promise ring.

Sorry you haven't been feeling well. Julia had a hospital visit over the weekend with it herself and we have a family member undergoing serious surgery tomorrow.
When it rains it pours. But we just have to keep the faith.

Hope a little normalcy is just what the dr. ordered. As wonderful as the Festive season is, it takes a lot out of us, doesn't it? Hope you feel better.

Promose that you will spend some time just sitting around in your robe on your next days off. Rent a video or two and R-E-L-A-X.
(((hugs)))

We have been having crazy weather too, and rain, I am soooo sick of rain. We got 27 inches of rain just in December.

I love the pic of the ducks, they are adorable.

Want some of my 'stuff without a home'? I have a lot of it and no place to put it, yeah, I have a bedroom too, I think, if I could find it under all that stuff.
